Really have to wonder if the Bs would be interested in Dvo. He's no replacement for either of their top 2 centres but they may have to go quantity over quality at this point...

The IIHF has announced that prospect Ivan Fedotov has been given a four-month suspension from βplaying in official national and international games from Sept. 1 and Dec. 31. The suspension begins with CSKA Moscowβs first KHL regular season game, meaning heβs set to miss the campaignβs first half. Fedotov originally signed a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers ahead of the 2022-23 season. Fedotov was detained in Russia for allegedly evading military service last year and was unable to join the Flyers. His deal was moved over for the 2023-24 season, with the belief that heβd be ready to serve as backup for the coming campaign. But Fedotov instead signed a contract to return to CSKA, breaching the IIHFβs rules about international transfer regulations. When a player is under contract with an NHL team, they are unable to sign a deal in the KHL, and vice-versa. A player on an NHL contract can be loaned out to the KHL, as is the case for many prospects.

The Boston Bruins signed free agent prospect John Farinacci to a two-year, entry-level contract on Wednesday worth $1.82 million. Farinacci, 22, was drafted 76th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2019 draft but failed to sign a contract by Aug. 15, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Ilya Lyubushkin was traded to the Anaheim Ducks by the Buffalo Sabres on Friday.
The Sabres received a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft for the defenseman. The pick was acquired by Anaheim in the trade that sent defenseman John Klingberg to the Minnesota Wild on March 3.

Former NHL defenseman Mathieu Schneider and the NHL Playerβs Association have reportedly parted ways, according to Frank Seravalli. Schneider had been the second-in-command at the NHLPA and worked for them for the past 12 years. The move comes several months after former United States Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh took over as executive director of the NHLPA.

Rick jeanneret Buffalo Sabres announcer passsed away Oh wow, that's too bad. An absolute legend: I remember as a kid watching highlights from the night's games and always getting a big kick out of the Buffalo broadcasts.

The Jets have reached an agreement on a new deal with one of their remaining restricted free agents. They announced that theyβve re-signed defenseman Logan Stanley to a one-year contract. The one-way deal will pay him $1M and matches what his qualifying offer was back in June.
