Don Granato reflected on the loss of forward Jack Quinn in the aftermath of the Buffalo Sabres’ 5-2 win over the San Jose Sharks inside SAP Center on Saturday. The Winnipeg Jets lost a player on Monday when Declan Chisholm was claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Wild. The defenceman had been with the Jets since Nov. 26 after a conditioning stint in the American Hockey League, but had been a healthy scratch in Winnipeg's last 23 games. The 24-year-old had played in just two games with the Jets this season, grabbing an assist and blocking a pair of shots.

The Seattle Kraken placed forward Devin Shore on waivers. Shore has one goal and four points in 21 games with the Kraken this season. He has also spent time in the AHL, posting three goals and six points in nine games with the Coachella Valley Firebirds. The 29-year-old had one goal and nine points in 47 games with the Edmonton Oilers last season.

The Flames will also receive prospects Hunter Brzustewicz and Joni Jurmo, a 2024 first-round draft pick, and a conditional 2024 fourth-round draft pick. Lindholm has nine goals and 23 points in 49 games this season. He was named to his first All-Star Game in January.

The Canucks signed general manager Patrik Allvin to a multi-year contract extension on Wednesday. Allvin was named general manager in Vancouver in January of 2022 and has helped construct a roster that sits atop the NHL this season with a 33-11-5 record.
Well deserved! This team seemingly came out of nowhere.

Halak is comparable to any of our goalies. Maybe another team? Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen is set to resume on-ice activities after being out since Nov. 6 due to blood clotting issues. Andersen has appeared in just six games this season, his third with the Hurricanes, going 4-1-0 with an .894 save percentage and 2.87 goals-against. He was ruled out indefinitely when diagnosed. Maybe they don't need a goalie anymore? |

The New York Islanders placed forward Julien Gauthier on waivers on Friday. Gauthier, 26, has scored five goals and four assists over 27 games with the Islanders in 2023-24, his first season with the team. The Canadian signed a two-year, $1.575 million contract with the Islanders this summer after spending last season with the Ottawa Senators. The deal carries an average annual value of $787,500.
