The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired left wing Alex Nylander and a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for right wing Emil Bemstrom, President of Hockey Operations and Alternate Governor John Davidson announced today. Nylander has been recalled and is expected to join the Blue Jackets prior to Friday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres at Nationwide Arena. Alex Nylander scored his first NHL hat trick for the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 6-3 win against the Vegas Golden Knights at Nationwide Arena on Monday. |

Gustav Forsling found his NHL home in South Florida when he signed an eight-year contract March 7, 2024, cementing himself as a reliable defensemam since the Panthers claimed him off waivers from the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 9, 2021. At the time of the signing, Forsling led Panthers defensemen in points, shots on goal, and the NHL at plus-44, earning praise from Florida general manager Bill Zito as one whose "career is an example of how far hard work and total commitment to improvement can take a person."

The Vegas Golden Knights are staying busy this trade deadline. News came down Thursday afternoon that they’ve made the Noah Hanifin extension happen. Former NHL goalie and current insider Kevin Weekes broke news on the contract. The deal is reportedly for eight years at a total of $56 million. It works out to an average cap hit of $7 million and runs through the 2030-31 season.
