The Columbus Blue Jackets announced that forward Sean Kuraly suffered an abdominal injury against the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night and has been taken to Grant Medical Center for further evaluation. Kuraly was hit behind the net by Maple Leafs defenceman Jake McCabe and then absorbed an errant shot to the chest. Kuraly dropped his stick and gingerly skated to the Blue Jackets' bench.

Anaheim Ducks forward Leo Carlsson left Thursday’s game against the Calgary Flames after sustaining an injury from a collision with Flames defenceman MacKenzie Weegar. The incident happened mid-way through the third, as Carlsson collided with Weegar along the boards in front of the penalty box. Weegar fell on Carlsson, who appeared to injure his knee. That could hurt. Bright young prospect. Anaheim Ducks rookie Leo Carlsson is expected to be out of the lineup approximately four-to-six weeks due to a sprained right MCL. |

Ottawa Senators defenceman Thomas Chabot will be out a minimum of four weeks with a leg injury. Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot is facing his second lengthy injury-related absence of the young season. He will miss a minimum of four weeks after undergoing MRIs and other tests to determine the severity of a leg injury, although surgery is not required, reports Darren Dreger of TSN. Further to Dreger’s report, Postmedia’s Bruce Garrioch confirms the Senators will place Chabot on long-term injured reserve. |

Kris letang first D man in NHL history to record 5 points in one NHL period 😳 Thats actually a surprising stat to me. Coffee and Orr both had lots of 6, 7 and 8 point games. And you have to figure in blow outs, its often a ton of points in the first 2 periods and then just play out the clock. Good for Letang though - he's been an underrated dman his whole career (injuries didnt help) and its nice to see he's still effective in the second half of his 30s. |

Former NHL forward Nick Ritchie has been suspended for eight games by Finland's Liiga for an on-ice incident. The 28-year-old Ritchie, playing for Oulun Karpat, was given a five-minute major and a match penalty for a series of gloved punches to the head of TPS player Markus Nurmea on Wednesday.
I guess you can't slap anyone around over there.

The final details and some of logistics are still being ironed out, but it does appear that Ethan Bear will be joining the Washington Capitals. Ethan Bear is back in the NHL following shoulder surgery after signing a two-year contract with the Washington Capitals. |

The Sabres are 14-18-4 on the year and have been one of the few teams to carry three goaltenders for most, if not all of the season. Turns out there's brewing frustration in the Sabres crease. There's growing speculation that goaltender Eric Comrie is not happy with the lack of playing time because of the crowded crease and as a pending free-agent, he's quickly becoming a trade candidate for the Sabres.
Probably a lower risk options for teams seeking a goalie. Finish the season and then done

Saturday's loss to the Jets was a costly one for the Wild, as both Kirill Kaprizov and Filip Gustavsson left the game with injuries. Kaprizov was cross-checked to the back twice, while Gustavsson left with a lower-body injury.
