I have not watched a lot of this guy but that's a good deal to lock up a young and large LHD man who can provide some minor offensive contributions of 5g, 30 points per year - prorated averages based on seasons so far. Appears to be a solid 3/4 pairing. |

I feel like he's the type of coach that could wring something out of that Islanders squad... but he also feels like the type of coach that won't stay there long. Maybe 1-2 seasons before he "loses the room."

Anaheim Ducks forward Alex Killorn will be sidelined for four to six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. The Ducks announced their latest major injury setback Saturday before they faced San Jose.
Killorn played in the Ducks' most recent game Tuesday at Washington. The team didn't announce when he was injured.

The Calgary Flames have recalled forward Adam Klapka from the AHL Calgary Wranglers. With the Flames dealing with some injuries, Adam Klapka and Matt Coronato have been called up from the AHL and will play tonight against the Oilers. |

Just over two weeks ago, the Calgary Flames assigned defenceman Oliver Kylington to the American Hockey League on a long-term injury conditioning stint. Now, after two games played with the Calgary Wranglers – and a lot of practice time with the Flames’ top affiliate – Kylington’s stint has been exhausted and he’s been returned to the Flames.

Blackhawks center Connor Bedard is expected to miss six to eight weeks after he had surgery to repair his fractured jaw. The team announced the operation and timeline for the 18-year-old rookie on Wednesday. It means he will miss the Feb. 3 NHL All-Star Game in Toronto — dealing a blow to the league. Chicago rookie Connor Bedard may have a broken jaw, but that did not stop him from taking to the ice on Monday, according to several reports. Bedard suffered a fractured jaw on Jan. 5 when he took a hit from the Devils' Brendan Smith. He underwent surgery last week. But there he was on Monday, donning a non-contact jersey and skating with the team's other injured players. Connor Bedard will miss at least another six weeks because of a fractured jaw sustained on Jan. 5, Chicago Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson said Monday. The update comes less than a week after the rookie center resumed skating. |

With Reeves in Toronto stating yesterday that he has been fine to play for a few weeks now, should the NHL not be looking into this? It would seem that this is circumventing the salary cap rules - it seems to me that back when Shea Weber was on LTIR the league looked into it to make sure that he actually could not play.
