In what felt like was a long time coming, TampBay Lightning have placed Alex Barre-Boulet on waivers today, which means he might have played his final game in a Lightning uniform, is in the final year of a three-year deal and will be UFA this summer. He has 12g, 18p in 68 games with TB. Thought the Habs would take a flyer on him before but.........

Washington’s T.J. Oshie left with a non-contact injury in the third period against TampaBay. The right winger went down to the ice after making a move near the offensive blue line. He crawled along the boards to the bench and needed assistance back to the locker room. Lotta weird type injuries.

The Calgary Flames placed centre Adam Ruzicka and defenceman Nick Desimone on waivers on Wednesday. Ruzicka, a big 6'4" warm body Slovakian center. Can we use? if he falls to us? The Calgary Flames lost a pair of players on waivers Thursday, with the New Jersey Devils claiming defenceman Nick DeSimone and the Arizona Coyotes claiming forward Adam Ruzicka. Oh well. Must not have been worth a flyer on Ruzicka. The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Adam Ruzicka on unconditional waivers. Once Ruzicka clears through waivers on Saturday, the team can terminate his contract and make him an unrestricted free agent. The Coyotes posted that they will have no further comment on the situation. The 24-year-old winger was recently claimed off waivers by the Calgary Flames on Jan. 25. Ruzicka had failed to register a point in three games with the Coyotes after scoring three goals and nine points with Calgary earlier in the year. |

For the second time in a week, the Dallas Stars have recalled forward Logan Stankoven from the Texas Stars, their AHL development affiliate. They also recalled defenseman Derrick Pouliot, whom they had just loaned back to Texas Friday morning.

They also recalled defenseman Derrick Pouliot, whom they had just loaned back to Texas Friday morning. I wonder if that is a bit of a showcase opportunity- Stankoven is an undersized Centre who could be dangled before the trade deadline |

Do you think Calgary knew this when they put him on waivers and if so do they have a responsibility to notify prospective teams? Seems it would minimize some of these wasted waiver claims. Devils winger Nathan Bastian landed on IR Friday after he was on the receiving end of a hit from Rangers rookie Matt Rempe in last night’s contest, per the team. New Jersey recalled winger Brian Halonen from AHL Utica in a corresponding transaction. Officials assessed Rempe a match penalty on the play, which occurred 2:25 into the game. He will not be subject to supplemental discipline. Bastian took only two shifts later in the contest and did not play at all in the third period.

Buffalo Sabres star forward Jeff Skinner left today's (Feb. 26) team practice early after suffering an undisclosed injury. Following practice, head coach Don Granato also shared that Skinner will have imaging done before the club leaves for their upcoming Florida road trip.
