Buffalo Sabres star forward Jeff Skinner left today's (Feb. 26) team practice early after suffering an undisclosed injury. Following practice, head coach Don Granato also shared that Skinner will have imaging done before the club leaves for their upcoming Florida road trip. In a corresponding move to this unfortunate development, the Sabres have recalled forward Tyson Jost from Rochester. |

I wonder if that is a bit of a showcase opportunity- Stankoven is an undersized Centre who could be dangled before the trade deadline Can't really see it. Lotta hype around this kid. Looks like he's going to be a good one. |

The Philadelphia Flyers have placed defenceman (RD) Rasmus Ristolainen on injured reserve (upper body). Hopefully this increases the demand for David Savard (RD) and lessens the trade of another D on Philly.

The Jets assigned David Gustafsson to the Moose of the AHL on a conditioning loan two weeks back and with that being the allowed length of his time with Manitoba they have announced he’s been recalled by Winnipeg.

Vegas has a lot of cap space now as they put Jack Eichel on LTIR. Must be getting ready to load up for the playoffs. Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel returned to the ice Tuesday sporting a red, non-contract jersey, the team shared. |

The Wild announced Wednesday they have inked Marat Khusnutdinov to a two-year entry-level contract. Maybe not as much hype as Kaprizov but it looks like he could be a good one.

The Tampa Bay Lightning signed center Milo Roelens to a three-year NHL contract, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced today. The contract will begin with the 2024-25 season and extend through the 2026-27.
The 21-year-old Roelens currently plays for Acadie-Bathurst of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and has posted 25 goals and 62 points in 56 contests. He currently leads the Titan for goals, ranks tied for first on the team for plus/minus (+17) and is second in assists (37) and scoring. Roelens is completing his fifth season in the QMJHL having played previously for Sherbrooke (2020-21 to 2022-23) and Gatineau (2019-20 to 2020-21). In 229 career QMJHL games, Roelens has tallied 59 goals and 153 points while adding three goals and eight points in 22 playoff contests.
The 6-foot-6, 205-pound Roelens went undrafted.

Jacob Markstrom addressed his future with the Calgary Flames on Friday. The goaltender, who has two seasons remaining on a six-year, $36 million contract ($6 million average annual value) signed with Calgary on Oct. 9, 2020, has been the subject of rumors ahead of the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline on March 8.
"I mean, I think everyone in here, every player in here, I really respect everything that's been going on and not going on," Markstrom said. "How everyone in this room has handled everything, I think it's been really good. You know, the whole situation and everything, am I happy about that? No, I'm not, and I think it could've been handled a lot different from up top."
Can't say I blame him. Hope they don't pull him in the middle of a game. 😯

Jack Eichel hasn't been ruled out to return to the lineup for the Vegas Golden Knights against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; HULU, ESPN+). The center has missed 18 games since sustaining a knee injury in a 2-1 overtime win against the Boston Bruins on Jan. 11. He took part in his first full contact practice on Friday. "I haven't been told he's out for tomorrow," Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said Friday. "I don't expect him to play but that could change. As I said, it's been kind of a fluid thing here once he got on the road with us, he's graduated to a full practice." Eichel rejoined the team Tuesday in a no-contact jersey and was back in a regular sweater at the morning skate in Boston, prior to a 5-4 loss on Thursday. He is third on the Golden Knights with 44 points (19 goals, 25 assists) in 42 games this season. |
